Holiday Happenings in Oklahoma City's Adventure District

OKLAHOMA CITY – With six of Oklahoma’s most popular tourist attractions located within two miles, Oklahoma City’s Adventure District is sure to have a holiday activity to suit every member of the family.

Help the Oklahoma City Zoo celebrate the holidays by participating in Deck the Zoo. From Dec. 1 through Dec. 24, visitors who bring an edible wildlife ornament will receive admission for $1. Be sure to catch Santa Claus on his annual visit to the Zoo from 10 to 11 a.m. Dec. 14. The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum offers several seasonal events including three opportunities to visit The Museum Store for your holiday gifts at the Horseshoes & Holly Open House Dec. 6, 13 and 20. Enjoy festive holiday touches including light refreshments, free parking and gift-wrapping.

Michael Martin Murphey’s Cowboy Christmas Ball is also included among the festivities at the Cowboy Museum. The 15th anniversary of this yuletide dance features Murphey headlining an evening of entertainment for the entire family at 7 p.m. Dec. 18. The event includes a buffet dinner and a visit from Santa. Experience live theater Dec. 3 at Cinemark Tinseltown USA Theatre when Glenn Beck’s The Christmas Sweater: A Return to Redemption is shown via satellite at 7 p.m. Don’t miss Beck’s return to the big screen just in time for the holidays with updates to his popular story The Christmas Sweater with never-before-seen elements.
