OKLAHOMA CITY – Experience an extraordinary holiday season with the many events Oklahoma City’s Adventure District has to offer for family members of all ages.  The Adventure District is home to seven attractions with events and exhibitions to suit everyone.

Help the Oklahoma City Zoo celebrate the holidays by participating in Deck the Zoo.  Through Dec. 24, visitors who bring an edible ornament suitable for native animals will receive $1 admission for that day.  Santa Claus will make his annual visit to the Zoo Dec. 10 at 10:30 a.m.  Watch Santa deliver treats to the animals, and enjoy free hot chocolate and keepsake photos.  For more information, visit www.okczoo.com or call 405-424-3344.

The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum also offers several seasonal events including A Night Before Christmas Museum Open House Dec. 11 from 6 to 9 p.m.  During this event, the museum’s turn-of-the-century Western town comes alive with historical characters, a schoolhouse cakewalk and choirs singing traditional Christmas music.

Cowboys and cowgirls will dance the night away at Michael Martin Murphey’s Cowboy Christmas Ball Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.  The yuletide dance includes a buffet and visit from Santa.  For more information, visit www.nationalcowboymuseum.org or call 405-278-2250.

Discover the origin of many holiday traditions like Christmas trees, gift giving, candles and Santa Claus during a special holiday planetarium show at Science Museum Oklahoma, formerly Omniplex. The Christmas Story planetarium show is available through Jan. 1, 2008.

While at Science Museum Oklahoma, guests won’t want to miss the rare opportunity to view actual human body specimens in “Our Body: The Universe Within.”  This educational exhibit casts a light on the alluring mystery of the human body through the presentation of these incredible specimens.  For more information, visit www.sciencemuseumok.org or call 405-602-6664.

Cinemark Tinseltown USA Theatre offers new release movies at an affordable cost.  For only $5.50 per ticket, see the highly-anticipated holiday releases such as “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and “National Treasure: Book of Secrets.”  Call 800-FANDANGO for show times.
