Teachers' Sneak Peek in Oklahoma City's Adventure District
OKLAHOMA CITY - With budget cuts and high fuel costs affecting Oklahoma schools statewide, Oklahoma City's Adventure District attractions offer affordable resources for teachers and students. Teachers' Sneak Peek, scheduled 3 - 8 p.m., Sept. 4, invites kindergarten through 12th grade teachers and principals to explore multidisciplinary educational opportunities at some of Oklahoma City's top visitor attractions.
During this interactive come-and-go event, school teachers will preview unique educational programs and receive valuable resources for their classrooms. Teachers will meet education staff members and tour the facilities of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Science Museum Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden, Remington Park and Oklahoma State Firefighters Museum.
Teachers can register at participant locations to win free field trips, admission passes to Adventure District attractions and other prizes.
Participants are encouraged to visit attractions that reinforce their content area and subject matter. Refreshments will be provided at each of the participating locations.
The Adventure District, located at the crossroads of I-35 and I-44, consists of seven attractions located within two short miles of one another. The attractions include Science Museum Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden, Remington Park Racing Casino, ASA National Softball Hall of Fame, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Cinemark Tinseltown USA Theatre and Oklahoma State Firefighters Museum.
