SMO 21 Epically Bad Ideas

August 16 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm

SMO 21 Epically Bad Ideas

“Don’t try this at home”? We say try it at SMO! Human Tesla coil? Sounds like a bad idea. A game of chicken with electricity? Sounds like a bad idea. Mentos- and soda-powered skateboarding? Sounds like a bad (and messy) idea.

We’ll test the limits of your taste buds with hot sauce (how high can you climb up the Scoville scale?), shoot potato guns, blow things up using only rubber bands, smell some awful smells, and much more.

It’s everything your mom always told you not to do — don’t miss this epic night of testing the best worst ideas with us!

In addition to themed activities, SMO 21 includes access to the museum’s permanent exhibits as well as the museum’s cafe and a cash bar with some bad-idea cocktails.

Tickets include all activities and access to the entire museum. Admission is limited — secure your spot and purchase tickets in advance!

>> How much are tickets? What does that include?
$21 in advance; $25 on the day of the event. Tickets are available online, in person during regular museum hours as well as over the phone. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as admission is limited and the event is expected to sell out. Tickets include admission to the museum and all SMO 21 activities.

>> What’s the age limit?
21+ only, and please bring your ID! No refunds will be offered for science-lovers who misrepresent their age.

>> This sounds awesome. Sign me up!
Great! You can buy tickets here: www.sciencemuseumok.org/smo21 and we recommend purchasing in advance – ticket availability is limited!

Those purchasing tickets at the door should check SMO’s website for updates regarding ticket availability and arrive no later than 7:30 p.m. There will be no ticket sales after 7:30 p.m. and no outside food or beverage is permitted.

>>Will there be more?
The next SMO 21 — with a theme to be announced — is planned for Oct. 25. All events will take place at the museum located at 2020 Remington Place in Oklahoma City.
