ABOUT THE EVENT

“What made me stop and take notice of this scene?” More than just a reproduction, a painting is one’s personal response, emotional and intellectual, to their subject. Prix de West artist D. LaRue Mahlke leads this workshop designed to help take your work to a new level by considering this important question, then finding and expressing your unique vision. Build confidence and gain clarity using fundamental principles of value, drawing, design, color, edges and strokes or texture. Additional topics will include tips for working from photographs, working from memory, plein-air painting, the ongoing journey and more!
Instructor: D. LaRue Mahlke (for more information visit www.dlaruemahlke.com).
Skill Level: Beginner to advanced.
This workshop will focus on pastels; however, oil painters are welcome.
